Arrests


LAURINBURG — Curtis Smith, 33, of 710 South Pine St., was served with two warrants at the magistrate’s office Monday — one for simple assault and the other for communicating threats, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Anily Key, 24, and Carmen Clark, 34, of 401 Choctaw Road in Bennettsville, S.C., were served with orders for arrest on Monday at the sheriff’s office and placed in the Scotland County jail, according to a sheriff’s report. Key was charged with failure to appear in court for misdemeanor larceny and failure to appear in court for a misdemeanor aiding and abetting larceny. He was held under a $5,000 secured bond. Clark was charged with two counts of failure to appear in court for misdemeanor larceny, failure to appear in court for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and failure to appear for trespassing. She was held under a $7,000 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — Angus Strickland, 22, of 11607 U.S. 130 in Maxton, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of misdemeanor larceny, three counts of misdemeanor order for arrests for failure to appear in court and misdemeanor first degree trespassing, according to a sheriff’s report. He was placed in the Scotland County jail and held under a $27,000 secured bond.


LAUREL HILL — Octabius Pate, 33, of 8733 Peeles Chapel Road, was arrested on Monday and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor failure to appear in court for driving while license revoked and misdemeanor failure to appear for simple possession of marijuana, according to a police report. Authorities found and seized 30.30 grams of marijuana from Pate’s possession. He was held under a $5,300 secured bond.


LAUREL HILL — Charles Bullard, 35, of 18061 Queens Road, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear in court for first degree trespassing and failure to appear for second degree trespassing, according to a sheriff’s report. Bullard was held under a $3,000 secured bond.


Theft


LAURINBURG — Lamar Jackson, of Crestline Road, reported on Monday that he was walking on Gill Street when someone hit him on the head with an unknown object and stole his cell phone and cash, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Joyce Watts, of Sally McNair Road, reported Monday that she was exiting the Piggly Wiggly when an unknown man took her wallet in the parking lot and fled on East Church Street, according to a police report. Watts described the thief as a black man with a beard, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket.


LAURINBURG — Gordon Wilson, of Elizabeth Drive, reported on Monday that someone stole a handgun, valued at about $400, from his home, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Peggy Dew, of West Boulevard, reported on Monday that someone stole a computer, valued at about $700, from her home, according to a police report.


Vandalism


LAUREL HILL — Timmy Hatcher, of Corbitt Road, reported Monday that someone shot into his home with a BB gun, causing about $500 damage to the front storm door and windows, according to a sheriff’s report.
