Deuteronomy 31: 12 – “Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law …”

Sunday School is the reaching, teaching, winning and maturing arm of a vital church. These four functions when used correctly make a major difference in any church. Sunday School is the reaching arm of the church – as individuals in the small group setting of Sunday School invite and reach out to their friends, family and neighbors, this will develop into a great way of bringing people into the local church. This is the first step in preparing people to be a part of God’s grand and glorious Kingdom. It is obvious that the Sunday School is the teaching arm of the church. That is what most people associate with the Sunday School. It should also be a winning arm of the church. Working with people in a small group setting, it is easier to bring people into a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. Finally, as the maturing arm of the church, the Sunday School helps people to reach a level of maturity in their walk and understanding of God’s Word the Bible. Being a part of this gives one a New Hope for Today.
