Larry Graham, of Laurinburg, digs sweet potatoes from a field on Barnes Bridge Road on Tuesday afternoon. Graham was one of dozens who had driven cars or trucks onto the field in hopes of filling buckets, bags or barrels with the potatoes that farm workers had left behind after the day’s harvest. Graham, who had a truck bed full of the sweet vegetable, said he had been working since 10 a.m. across Scotland and Robeson County to collect food for Unionville Missionary Church’s food bank.
