Laurinburg teens to compete in pageant

BENNETTSVILLE — Three Laurinburg teenagers are are among the 16 contestants who will compete in the 45th annual Miss Marlboro Academy Pageant.
Emily Sheppard, a senior and the daughter of Jeff and Betsy Sheppard; Katherine Holmes, a junior and the daughter of Boyd and Vicky Holmes; and Nicole Jute, a sophomore and the daughter of Kurt and Valeriana Jute, will compete for the crown on Nov. 2 at 8 p.m.
Other contestants include Richmond County and South Carolina residents.
The theme of this year’s pageant is “One Moment in Time.” It will feature music from the 1980s. Reigning queen Courtney Odom will perform, and others will provide special entertainment.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
