LAURINBURG — Authorities continue to search for a South Carolina man wanted in connection with store break in in the Hasty community.

Deputies arrested James Johnson, 38, of Dillon, S.C. with the store break in on Sept. 18, according the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities believe Michael “Mike Mike” Johnson, 31, of Dillon, was also involved. It is not clear it the men are related.

James Johnson was charged with felony breaking and entering and possession of burglary tools and held under a $35,000 bond.

He has also been charged in an additional store break in on Sept. 14. His bond in that case was set at $50,000.

Officials said Michael Johnson was involved in both break-ins.

The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of Michael Johnson to contact the detective division at 910-266-4332.
