LAURINBURG — A Laurinburg man has been arrested as a part of drive-by shooting this weekend that injured another man.
Airam T. Barfield, 24, of 340 Douglas Street, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury.
He is accused of shooting Jeffery Harrington on Sunday as he walked down James Street toward East Vance Street. Police said Barfield fired five shots from a white vehicle.
Harrington, 32, of Laurinburg, was hit once in the right shoulder, police said.
“There is no known motive at this time,” said Assistant Police Chief Cliff Sessoms.
Barfield was also charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits, according to police. he was jailed under a $25,000 secured bond.
