HAMLET — Richmond Community College will host a job fair next week for RSI Home Products.
The cabinetry company, which announced plans to expand its operations into Richmond County in March, is seeking to hire multiple employees for the following positions: maintenance technician, set up operator and lead person.
The salary ranges for the latter two positions are $13 to $16.25 per hour and $20 to $26 per hour for the technician job, according to college officials.
“We are developing a plan with RSI that will provide training for these positions at their new facility in Hamlet, and we are also assisting them in filling these positions by holding this job fair at RichmondCC,” Lee Eller, the college’s director of customized training, said in a statement. “We are excited to be a part of this collaborative effort to bring more jobs to Richmond County.”
The job fair will run from 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 26 at Cole Auditorium.
A previous job fair was hosted at the NCWorks Career Center in Rockingham July 5.
Company and county officials held a groundbreaking ceremony March 8 at Richmond County Industrial Park.
Chief Operating Officer Jeff Hoeft said RSI was “blown away” by the way the college caters to the needs of the local manufacturing community.
RSI currently has a 1 million square-foot facility in Lincoln County which employees nearly 1,000 people. It also has operations in California and Texas.
County commissioners approved a 42.75-acre land transfer in the industrial park to a holding company affiliated with the Charlotte-based Keith Corp. for the construction of the facility at their March meeting.
The California-based company — which manufactures kitchen, bath and home storage cabinets for use in residential repair and remodeling and new residential construction markets — is expected to hire 175 workers and be open by the end of September.
