LAURINBURG — Laurinburg police officers continue to look for those responsible for a fatal shooting of a Laurinburg man Wednesday night.

The victim was 3o-year-old Raheem Anthony Brown of Roosevelt Street, according to Laurinburg Police Chief Darwin “Duke” Williams.

Police were called to a shooting at the 1500 block of Hickory Street at about 10:20 p.m., Wednesday, Williams said.

Brown was found unresponsive at the scene and was transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators have not released where Brown was shot or how many times.

Williams said investigators canvassed the neighborhood near the shooting Wednesday night and into Thursday trying to find the shooter.

“We are working around the clock to solve this,” Williams said. “I am encouraging the public to speak up and please come forward. Do the right thing.”
