Community Music School shows talent

LAURINBURG — The Community Music School held a spring recital recently in the Hagan Choral Room of Vardell Hall at St. Andrews.

The students of Alice Wilkins and Marjorie Hinson performed selections with piano, guitar, violin and voice.

Ashleigh McLaughlin, Fretericka Christian, Anh Pham, Shontericka Christian, Gavin Blue, Aislyn Pegues, Jermarah Hale, Vy Pham, Ana Huesa, Rhyannon Ricks, Destiny Nealy, Brianna Myers, and Cutter Eaves performed on piano. The selections ranged from “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” to “Star Wars.”

A voice performance was given by Rylee Roller singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by Harold Arlen.

Playing guitar were Jack Herr (“Scotland the Brave”), Daniel Bridges (“Ode to Joy”) and Kyle McCoy (“Habanera”).

Melody Blue played two selections on violin as well as Ayla Schillig. Also playing violin were Zoi Pegues, Andrew Sheppard, Christian Molina and Rebecca Simmons, guest artist and CMS alumna.

The recital ended with the ‘Garage Band’ accompanied by Gene Dunn and Long Pham on guitars playing “Dublin Town” by John Thompson.
