LAURINBURG — New members of the Scottish Pilot Club of Laurinburg recently attended a luncheon at the home of Betty Smith.
The event was co-hosted by Nancy Adcock and Carol Meshaw. Following the meal, Betty Smith, membership chair, Barbara Mack, president and Terry Gallman, president-elect entertained the new members with the history of Pilot International, North Carolina District and the local Scottish Pilot Club.
The new members were informed that there was something of interest for everyone in the Scottish Pilot Club. Volunteer work is divided into divisions of supporting the Anchor Club at Scotland High School, Fundraising, Leadership, Membership, and Projects. Some of the spring projects will be BrainMinder education for kindergarteners, Special Olympics, Scholarship Committee, and Pick Me Ups. The spring fundraiser was a card party, fashion show luncheon.
The Scottish Pilot Club of Laurinburg is a member of Pilot International. Pilot International works to transform communities by: developing youth, providing service and education and uplifting families.
