RALEIGH — State Rep. Garland E. Pierce has been appointed by Speaker of the House Tim Moore to serve on the Joint Legislative Emergency Management Oversight Committee and the Legislative Ethics Committee.
The Joint Legislative Emergency Management Oversight Committee examines and makes recommendations on issues related to emergency management.
The Legislative Ethics Committee proposes rules of legislative ethics and conduct for each term. The committee also advises General Assembly committees where conflicts of interest may exist and how to avoid them.
“I am delighted that the Speaker of the House has chosen me once again to serve on these very important committees,” said Pierce,who lives in Wagram. “I’m looking forward to making a difference. I am thankful that the Speaker of the House has confidence in me, to serve on these committee’s on very important issues that affect the citizens of North Carolina.”
