LAURINBURG — The Pilot Club of Laurinburg’s annual holiday luminary tribute will be held on Saturday on the campus of St. Andrews University.
The event is the club’s major annual fundraiser, and will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 12. More than 1,200 luminaries, dedicated in honor of local residents and their family members, are expected to be featured on Dogwood Mile.
A brochure with each name will be printed and handed out to each car as they pass by the luminaries.
Luminaries may be purchased for $5 each from any member of The Pilot Club. The deadline for purchase is Dec. 1.
“The Pilot Club of Laurinburg appreciates all the support the community gives our Club,” said Amy Inniss, club president. “The luminaries, a mile of beauty at Christmas, is our way of saying thank you for this support.”
There is no charge to view the luminaries.
Proceeds goes toward the Alzheimer Support Group, Educational Projects including BrainMinders, Grants for Special Needs Classrooms at North Laurinburg School, Scotland High School Anchor Club, and Scotland High School Scholarships.
Rebecca Brooks is the chair of this year’s event. For information, call 910-280-0768.
