LAURINBURG — Instead of a receipt, a would-be buyer of a dirt-bike got a gun pointed his way, Laurinburg police said Tuesday.
A dirt-bike sale that authorities say turned into an armed robbery occurred on Monday.
Police are looking for Lamont Carnillis Worth, 19, of 446 Carver St. Police say he arranged to sell his dirt-bike to a family member , but tried to rob the relative instead.
According to police, Worth went to the victim’s house on Corona Avenue to sell the bike and when relative took out $300 Worth pulled out a gun and took the money.
Worth also pointed the gun at three other family members that came out of the house after watching Worth brandish a weapon, police said.
Worth will be charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and four counts of assault by pointing a gun, police say.
