LAURINBURG — A Laurinburg man has been charged with breaking into a church and a bail bondsman’s office last week, according to police, as well as the theft of electronics and cash.

James Alvin Hill, 49, of Biggs Street, is accused of breaking into Renew Life Ministries at 910 N. Main St., which was discovered around 7 a.m. on Sept. 11. Printer toner and three computer monitors were reported stolen from the church.

Hill was also charged with a break-in at White’s Tax Service/Hunter’s Bail Bonds at 305 McKay St., which occurred between 6:20 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 16. A wireless Internet router, three televisions, cash and handcuffs were reported stolen.

Hill has been charged with two counts of felonious breaking and entering, two counts of felonious larceny, and one count of injury to real property. Hill was placed under an $80,000 secured bond.
