Arrests

LAURINBURG —Marques Roper, 23, of North Main Street and Michael Bethea, Jr., 23, of Carver Street were charged on Monday with common law robbery and assault inflicting serious injury after attacking another man at the Laurinburg Food Mart, according to police. Both Roper and Bethea were placed under $20,000 secured bond.

LAURINBURG — William Shawn Leach, 22, of Appaloosa Court was arrested on Thursday under outstanding warrants for assault on a female and injury to personal property, according to police. Leach was also charged with resisting arrest and breaking and entering after he fled authorities and locked himself in a Beta Street apartment. Leach was placed under a $1,000 secured bond.

LAURINBURG — A pair of Scotland High School students was charged with simple affray and disorderly conduct on Wednesday after a fight at the school, according to police. Aaron Haislip and Kimron Frierson, both 16, were each placed under $2,000 bond.

Break-ins

LAURINBURG — Scoop N Dip on South Main Street reported a breaking and entering and larceny on Friday, according to police. An undisclosed amount of cash was reported stolen.

LAURINBURG — C&J Smooth Cuts on West Bizzell Street reported a breaking and entering and larceny on Friday, according to police. An undisclosed amount of cash was reported stolen.

LAURINBURG — Purcell Funeral Home on North King Street reported a breaking and entering and larceny on Friday, according to police. A gas blower, push mower, and weedeater valued at $850 were reported stolen.

LAURINBURG — A break-in was reported at Storage Solutions on North King Street on Thursday, according to police. A television valued at $600 was reported stolen.

LAURINBURG — A vehicle break-in was reported at Sandhills Motorsports on McColl Road on Wednesday, according to police. An iPhone was reported stolen.
