Arrests

LAURINBURG — Tynaisa McDonald, 17, and Yolonda McDonald, 34, both of McLaughlin Road were arrested Sunday at Walmart and charged with simple assault, according to a police report. Tynaisa received a $1,000 bond and Yolonda received a $500 bond.

LAURINBURG — Sheldon McNeill, 19, of 610 Douglass Street was arrested Saturday and charged with possession of stolen property after police observed him riding a stolen Honda motorcycle on Hall Street, according to a police report. McNeill received a $10,000 bond.

Larceny

LAURINBURG — A break-in to a 2014 Chevrolet parked on North Gill Street was reported Sunday along with the theft of a checkbook, money, video and audio discs, and a phone charger valued at a total of $38, according to a police report.

LAURINBURG — A break-in to a 2000 Ford Explorer parked at Walmart was reported Sunday along with the theft of a cellphone valued at $80, according to a police report.

LAURINBURG — An employee at Belk on Scotland Crossing Drive reported Saturday the larceny of 40 pairs of jeans valued at a total of $1,800, according to a police report. Police said they made two arrests in the case so far. Names have not been released yet.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Caledonia Road reported Saturday that someone stole a package off the porch containing a tablet valued at $90, according to a police report.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Pine Street reported Friday that someone broke in and stole assorted jewelry valued at $740, according to a police report.

Vandalism

LAURINBURG — A church on South Caledonia Road reported Friday that someone shot its sign, causing approximately $2,000 worth of damage, according to a police report.

Arson

LAURINBURG — A resident of Johns Road reported Sunday that someone set fire to brush on a path off Johns Road, according to a police report.
