Hit and Run

LAURINBURG — Police are investigating a hit-and-run on Sunday. A man walking on James Street near Covington Street at 7 p.m. was hit by a burgundy four-door vehicle that crossed the center lines, struck him then left the scene, according to a police report. The man was unable to give a description of what the driver looked like.

Arrests

LAURINBURG — Seqouia Lynn Locklear, 19, of Corey Road, Maxton was arrested Sunday for carrying a concealed weapon and misdemeanor larceny at Walmart, according to a police report. Locklear was placed under a $3,000 secured bond.

LAURINBURG — Dexter Jamar Byrd, 36, of Blakely Road was arrested Sunday for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving while license revoked, displaying a fictitious license plate and resisting a public officer, according to a police report. Byrd received no bond due to pending weapon charges.

LAURINBURG — Javonda Eugene Morris, 31, of Mustang Court was arrested Sunday during a traffic stop for giving a fictitious name and drivers license, according to a police report. While investigating police discovered Morris had a fugitive warrant for Dillon County regarding a common law robbery.

LAURINBURG — Daloryan Gerwell Clark-Rogers, 24, of Caledonia Road, was arrested Friday for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest, according to a police report.

LAURINBURG — Miesha Primus of Bennettsville was arrested during the Scotland High School football game Friday for delaying and obstructing an officer, according to a police report. Primus was placed under a $1,500 secured bond.

Assault

LAURINBURG — A robbery was reported Saturday by a man walking on Short Street when seven teenage males assaulted him and took his Galaxy cellphone, according to a police report. The phone was worth a total of $315.

Larceny

LAURINBURG — A resident of Hasty Road reported Sunday the larceny of her pressure washer, chainsaw and garden tiller, according to a police report. The stolen items were worth a total of $350.

LAURINBURG — A 2010 Dodge Ram parked at Scotland High School was reported broken into Sunday, according to a police report. Stolen was a laptop, tablet, currency and clippers with a total value of $1,300.

LAURINBURG — A 2006 Honda Civic parked on the Scotland High School service road was reported broken into Friday, according to a police report. Stolen was a laptop and leather bad with a total value of $1,400.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Asheville Street reported Friday the breaking and entering of his storage shed and larceny of a $100 weed-eater, according to a police report.

Break-ins

LAURINBURG — A resident of Avery Street reported Saturday an attempted break-in, according to a police report.

LAURINBURG — The Church of God Prophecy on Lee’s Mill Road reported Friday an attempted break-in, according to a police report. There was $25 worth of damage to the lock.
