LAURINBURG — Police say a Wagram man is wanted in connection with a shooting earlier this week.
Laurinburg police are looking for Nicholas Devon McNeill, 23, of Brown Street, in connection with shooting Timothy Brown four times. Brown was struck in the face, back and leg, according to police.
There are warrants for McNeill for attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, assault by pointing a gun and discharging a firearm in city limits.
The shooting occurred at 10 p.m. Tuesday near Alexander Avenue, police said.
McNeill was arguing with Brown when he pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times, according to police.
Brown was taken to the emergency room at Scotland Memorial Hospital then transferred to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Later that night, around 2 a.m., a shooting of a residence on East Vance Street was reported. Police said the second shooting may have been in retaliation to the earlier one.
At the time of the shooting, three adults, a 5-year-old, a 4-year-old and a baby less than 1-year-old were at the home.
No one was injured, but there was $300 worth of damage to the house.
“We believe the two shootings may be connected,” said Assistant Chief Cliff Sessoms. “The case is currently under investigation.”
Investigators ask anyone with information on McNeill’s location to contact the Laurinburg Police Department at 910-276-3211.
