Arrests

LAURINBURG — Keshawn Marquis Whitfield, 18, of 906 Charlotte St. was arrested Tuesday for child abuse by negligence from an incident Oct. 23 where police say he left a 1-year-old child in a bathtub with scalding hot water and the child suffered from first- and second-degree burns, according to a police report. Whitfield was placed under a $10,000 secured bond.

LAURINBURG — Jessica Amber Watson, 29, of 2001 Old Charleston Circle was arrested Monday for the breaking and entering and larceny of a 32-inch television from a residence on Old Lumberton Road on Oct. 26, according to a police report. Watson was placed under a $5,000 secured bond.

Larceny

LAURINBURG — A resident of North Gill Street reported Monday the breaking and entering of her storage building and the larceny of a riding lawn mower, weed eater, edger and two ladders, according to a police report. The stolen items were worth a total of $1,475.

LAURINBURG — The owner of a 2013 Nissan Maxima reported Monday the larceny of debit cards, food stamps, currency and personal documents from the vehicle when he lent it to a friend, according to a police report. There was no forced entry reported.

Vandalism

LAURINBURG — The Bread of Life Church on Sanford Road reported a broken window, according to a police report.
