Submission guidelines: All church news submissions must be typed or hand written in block letters and delivered to The Laurinburg Exchange office by Wednesday at noon for inclusion in Friday’s edition. E-mail submissions are also accepted (rmcauley@civitasmedia.com). Please refrain from using cursive or any non-standard fonts or colors and include “church news” in the subject line of e-mail submissions.


Events occurring outside of Scotland County (with the exception of Maxton) will not be included. Please use full names and include time and date information.

Anointed House of God will have Elder Frederick Rodgers, of Florence, S.C., speak at a 7:30 p.m. service.


Saturday


Trinity Presbyterian Church will host its “50th Anniversary Family Fun Day” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be games, bounce houses, food vendors and other activities for guests to enjoy. Admission is free.


Sunday


Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Church will host its “Annual Homecoming Revival” at 3 p.m. Rev. Jeremy Bethea, of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Mullins, S.C., will be a guest preacher at the event.


Cedar Grove First Missionary Baptist Church will begin its Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Rev. Kenneth Bethea will speak at the morning worship at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served after the morning message. Guest speaker Rev. T. R. Davis, along with his choir and congregation of Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, will attend the 3 p.m. worship service.


Church of God of Prophecy will host a summer revival with Minister Zachary Barnes at 11 a.m.


New Greater St. James Word, Praise and Worship Ministries will have a Pastorial Day service at 11 a.m. Pastor Jane Hasty will speak at the morning service. Everyone is invited.


East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church will premier the nationally acclaimed movie, “God’s Not Dead,” at 6 p.m. The movie admission is free. Everyone is invited and encouraged to bring a friend.


Monday


Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Church will hold a three-night revival Monday through Wednesday (July 28-30) at 7 p.m. each evening. Evangelist Tomeka Steele, of First Carolina Missionary Baptist Church, will speak Monday night, Pastor Jerry McNeill, of Green Lake Missionary Baptist Church in Rockingham, will speak Tuesday night and Pastor J. W. Parson, of Silver Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Raeford will speak Wednesday night.


Cedar Grove First Missionary Baptist Church will hold its revival services Monday to Wednesday (July 28-30) at 7 p.m. each night. Pastor Sherri Allgood, of True Worship Ministries in Biscoe, will speak each night. For more information call Pastor Kenneth Bethea at 910-276-4599.


July 30


McZarn AME Zion Church will have a summer revival Wednesday to Friday (July 30-August 1) at 7 p.m. each night. The Rev. Quinton Williamson, of Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Wilmington, and his church family will be the guest speaker at the event. Everyone is invited.


Aug. 1


Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church will have its youth group sponsor a Youth Explosion Program entitled “More than Conquerors” Friday at 7 p.m. The program will feature a talent show in which all youth are welcome to come out and share their talents.


Aug. 2


First United Methodist Church will hold a yard sale from 8-11 a.m. Holiday decorations, household and baby items will be on sale.


Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church will sponsor its fourth annual Career Day and Back-to-School event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will offer youth the opportunity to explore possible career choices by interacting one-on-one with various professionals and learn how important education is to their future success. All youth are welcome to attend.


Aug. 3


Hunter’s Chapel AME Zion Church will host its “Homecoming Celebration” starting at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Dorothy Anderson, of Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.


Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual homecoming services. On Aug. 3 the morning service will start with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 11 a.m. with Pastor T. R. Davis who will minister the service. Lunch will be served afterwards. The afternoon service will start with guest minister Pastor Charles Nabors, of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Taylortown, who will speak among his choir and congregation at 2:45 p.m.


Nazareth Church will host its 2014 Homecoming Afternoon Service at 3:30 p.m. The Nazareth DG Mass Choir will perform.


Aug. 4


Hunter’s Chapel AME Zion Church will hold its annual Revival from Monday to Wednesday (Aug. 4-6) at 7 p.m. each night. The revivalist will be Rev. Joletha Dockery, of Bessie Chapel AME Zion Church in Lilesville. Everyone is invited to attend.


Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will hold revival services Monday to Thursday (Aug. 4-7) at 7 p.m. Pastor Bruce Hurst, guest minister of Leach Springs Baptist Church in Raeford, will speak. All are welcome to attend.


Nazareth Church will hold a revival Monday to Wednesday (Aug. 4-6) each night at 7 p.m. The guest revivalist will be Pastor Phillip D. Marks, Sr., of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Saint Pauls. The public is invited to attend.


August 6


Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church will have it’s annual three-night revival from Wednesday to Friday (Aug. 6-8) at 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday the Rev. Garland Pierce, of Bright Hopewell Baptist Church, will speak as guest minister and attend with his church choir. Thursday, the Rev. Hurley Williams, of Nashville Baptist Church in Marston, will speak and his church choir will perform. Friday, the Rev. Chris Edmonds, of Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Red Springs, will speak and attend with his church choir.


August 9


Friendship One Accord Worldwide Church of God will hold a “Back-to-School Kickoff” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All children and adults are welcome to attend the event. Various speakers, door prizes and lunch will be provided.


August 12


Charity Outreach Holiness Church will hold a revival with the Rev. Harry Clark attending Tuesday to Thursday (Aug. 12-14) from 7-9 p.m. All are welcome.


August 14


Bright Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church will hold a two-night revival and Women’s Day Thursday and Friday (August 14-15), sponsored by the women of the church. Rev. Veronica Livingston and the choir of Beauty Spot United Methodist Church in Lumberton will lead the Thursday service. The theme is “Women of God Being Active in God’s Purpose.” Devotion will begin at 7 p.m. followed by an evening service at 7:30 p.m.


The Rev. Hazel Wilson and the choir of Mt. Pilier Presbyterian Church in Rowland will lead the Friday service, following the same theme. Devotion will begin at 7 p.m. followed by a service at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.


St. Mary Catholic Church will have a chicken salad plate sale from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5-7 p.m. Plates cost $7 each. The meal includes chicken salad, Jell-O salad, pasta salad and iced tea. Eat-in, take-out and drive-thru orders are available. Bright Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church will observe “Womens Day” with a praise and worship at 10:45 a.m. followed by a morning worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Spivey Rivers, of Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, will deliver the morning message.


Friendship One Accord Worldwide Church of God will hold a “Vision Empowerment Service” at 4 p.m. Pastor Thomas Williams, of Missionary Gospel Tabernacle in Lumberton, will be a guest preacher at the program.

Galilee United Methodist Church will celebrate “Gratitude Sunday” during morning worship at 10:45 a.m.


Aug. 31

Galilee United Methodist Church will collect gently used shoes, especially sneakers, at the church on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Those interested in donating shoes can also call the church at 910-276-0811 to schedule a delivery date and time. Shoes will be collected until Sept. 30.
