LAURINBURG — Lisa Regling has opened new cleaning service in Laurinburg called More than a Maid.

The service includes regular housekeeping and Regling also cleans windows

“A lot of housekeepers don’t do windows,” Regling said. “We do. They are easy so I can follow behind other maids. They can keep their customers and I can do the windows.”

More Than a Maid is offering a fall special on windows. They will be cleaned inside and out for $5.

The business charges $25 an hour for cleaning services.

I’ve been told that I do an awesome job and that I’m quick,” said Regling, who recently retired from the restaurant industry where she worked at the corporate level for Denny’s.

Regling, a native of Buffalo, New York, also offers delivery services, personal shopping and will run errands.

“We’re from up north and I noticed that some of the grocery stores deliver,” she said. “If someone is elderly or doesn’t want to go to the store, the store will gather up what they ask for and bring it to them. I thought that would be good thing to do for people.”

Regling plans to charge clients 10 percent of the grocery bill, plus a $5 delivery fee

“It is a niche that could be filled in Laurinburg and it is nice to help people,” she said. “I’ve been cleaning my church for a year and have been cleaning different things and decided to make it a business full time.”
