Arrests


LAURINBURG — Kenneth Chavis, of 26321 Sand Ridge Road in Laurel Hill, and his sister, Brittany Chavis, 22, of 603 Baker Court, were arrested Tuesday after the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office received complaints of drugs use at Chavis’ home at Baker Court, according to a sheriff’s report. About 21.10 grams of marijuana were found inside her home.


Chavis was charged with felonious maintaining a dwelling of a controlled substance and was held under a $5,000 secured bond. Kenneth Chavis was charged with felonious possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held under a $10,000 secured bond.


GIBSON — Jeffery Bines, 47, of 308 Reese St. in Bennettsville, S.C., was arrested Wednesday on Main Street and charged with injury to personal property and indecent exposure, according to a sheriff’s report. He was held under a $10,000 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — Robery Monroe, 26, of 6800 Andrew Jackson Highway in Laurel Hill, was served with an order for arrest Wednesday for failure to appear in court for charges of driving while license revoked and felonious discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling/moving vehicle, according to a sheriff’s report. He was held under a $20,000 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — Corrinna Locklear, 49, of 11420 Barnes Bridge Road, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, according to a sheriff’s report. She signed a written promise to appear in court.


LAURINBURG — Stephanie Strickland, 40, of 439 Onnie and Joe Road in Maxton, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and signed a written promise to appear in court, according to a sheriff’s report.


Break-in


LAUREL HILL — William Royston, of Andrew Jackson Highway, reported Wednesday that someone broke into his home and stole various medications, according to a sheriff’s report.


Theft


LAURINBURG — Doris David, of Spencer Street in Laurel Hill, reported Wednesday that she left her wallet on a table near a computer at the Scotland County Memorial Library and when she went back to retrieve it the wallet had already been taken, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Tracy Gross, of Ward Street, reported Wednesday that someone stole a bicycle, valued at about $200, from their home, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Emily Wood, of Gilchrist Street, reported on Wednesday that after a recent move she realized that money had been stolen from inside her fire safe box, according to a police report.


Fraud


LAURINBURG — Barbara Bateman, of Caledonia Road, reported that she was scammed out of about $250 by a fraudulent computer company, according to a police report. She was contacted by the company about a virus that was on her computer and she allowed them to have access to her computer in order to fix it and paid a bill for their services.


Vandalism


LAURINBURG — Freddie Monroe, of Wooster Street, reported Thursday that someone scratched and broke the head and tail lights on his vehicle, causing about $700 damage, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Catherine Dockery, of Turnpike Road, reported Wednesday that someone broke a window in her living room, causing about $100 damage, according to a police report.
