Arrests


LAURINBURG — Terry Leach, 16, of 516 Lees Mill Road, was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of stolen property, according to a police report. He was held under a $1,500 secured bond. Authorities searched Leach’s home to find several stolen electronics hidden in Leach’s bedroom that he claimed was given to him.


LAURINBURG — India Hayes, 22, of 708 Ashley Drive, was arrested Tuesday for fraud at Walmart and charged with obtaining property by false pretenses, larceny and driving while license revoked, according to a police report. She was held under a $12,500 secured bond. Hayes purchased items at Walmart and returned later that day, picked up the same items that she bought earlier and returned them to customer service. She received about $50 for those items and also stole a bag of dog bone treats before leaving. Police pulled her over as she was driving south on N.C. 401 and placed her under arrest.


LAURINBURG — Shavonte Stanback, 17, of 22741 Edgar Drive in Wagram, and Christan Gibson, 16, of 4661 Old Wire Road in Laurel Hill, got into an altercation Tuesday in a bathroom at Scotland High School and were both charged with simple affray and disorderly conduct, according to a police report. They were shoving each other when Gibson slipped and hit his head on the bathroom sink. Stanback was later charged and placed in jail and held under a $2,500 secured bond while Gibson was served warrants for his charges and released.


LAURINBURG — Henry Monley, 38, of 501 Fayetteville St., was arrested Tuesday and charged with indecent exposure at Golden Corral, according to a police report. Monley had exposed himself outside of the restaurant and police found Monley walking north on N.C. 401. He was charged and held under a $2,500 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — Edward Major, 59, of 16141 Bronco Drive, was arrested Tuesday for larceny at Walmart, according to a police report. He was held under a $2,500 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — Cheryl Holloway, 55, of 724 Raleigh St., was arrested Tuesday and charged with trespassing, according to a police report. She was held under a $1,500 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — Montricia Stewart, 22, of 422 Hood Drive, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with vandalism, communicating threats and simple assault, according to a police report. She signed a written promise to appear in court.


LAUREL HILL — Robert Monroe, 26, of 15781 Monroe Road in Marston, was served with an order for arrest Wednesday for failure to appear in court, according to a sheriff’s report. He was given a $1,000 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — Brandon Prevatt, 30, of 113 Rosemary Lane, was arrested Wednesday and charged with misdemeanor assault on a female, communicating threats and harassing phone calls, according to a sheriff’s report. He was given a $2,000 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — James Oxendine, 26, of 20980 Old Lumberton Road, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with misdemeanor assault on a female, larceny and communicating threats, according to a sheriff’s report. He was given a $2,600 bond.


Break-ins


LAURINBURG — Rapheal Raglend, of Blakely Road, reported Tuesday that someone stole two cell phones and an undisclosed amount of cash from his vehicle, according to a police report. The thief pried open the driver side door to his vehicle while it was parked on Butler Street, causing about $200 damage.


LAUREL HILL — Nicholas Caulder, of Marston Road, reported on Tuesday that someone broke into his home and attempted to set it on fire, according to a sheriff’s report. About $300 damage was caused to the door frame.


Theft


LAURINBURG — Family Dollar, on Aberdeen Road, reported Tuesday that a man wearing a black South Pole t-shirt, blue jeans and a black and white baseball cap stole hygiene products, valued at about $25, and drove off in an unknown vehicle, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Peggy Bowen, of Pea Bridge Road, reported Tuesday that someone stole an IPad 2, valued at about $743, from a backpack, according to a sheriff’s report.


GIBSON — Wanda Birchfield, of Paisan Lane, reported Tuesday that someone stole a firearm, valued at about $300, from her home, according to a sheriff’s report.
