Arrests


LAURINBURG — Leon Smith, 44, of 11181 Liberty Circle, was arrested Sunday and charged with felonious crime against nature after a resident of Barnes Bridge Road reported that someone engaged in crimes against nature with one of their horses, according to a sheriff’s report. He was held under a $5,000 secured bond.


LAURINBURG — Tyus Terry, 17, of 23040 Marston Road in Laurel Hill, and Terry McLaughlin, 16, of 18181 Luther Drive in Wagram, were both arrested and charged Monday with simple affray, disorderly conduct and vandalism after fighting in a bathroom at Scotland High School, according to a police report. They were each held under a $2,500 secured bond.


LAUREL HILL — Eddie Thompson, 56, of 7680 Walters Road, was served with an order for arrest Monday for misdemeanor failure to pay child support, according to a sheriff’s report. He was held under a $26,176 cash bond.


Fraud


LAURINBURG — Victoria McKoy, of Salley McNair Road, reported Monday that someone started a cell phone account with Verizon using someone her information, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Nic’s Pic Kwik #1, of Aberdeen Road, reported Monday that a customer went inside the store to pay for gas with a $20 bill that was soon discovered to be a counterfeit bill, according to the police report. After being notified, the customer went back inside to give the cashier another non-counterfeit $20 bill.


LAURINBURG — Bobby Hunter, of West Lake Road in Wagram, reported Monday that when he sold ice cream from the back of his truck over the weekend on Marcelus Street he didn’t realize until a couple days later that he received a $20 counterfeit bill from a customer, according to a police report.
