LAURINBURG — A 22-year-old Laurinburg man was jailed on Tuesday for breaking into a city home and vehicle on July 4 — and picked up two additional felony charges when officers found three marijuana plants growing at his home.
Julian Ammons, of 19310 Keystone Way, is charged with felonious breaking and entering, breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, larceny, manufacturing marijuana and maintaining a drug dwelling, according to Scotland County sheriff’s Capt. Mitch Johnson. Ammons was placed in the Scotland County jail without bond, having violated the terms of his probation.
According to Johnson, a Horne Road resident returned home from watching the fireworks and found Ammons inside. Ammons ran from the home, and investigators later gleaned information that led to his arrest, Johnson said.
