LAURINBURG — Thomas Alan “Tom Wilson, 72, passed away on July 7, 2015.

Tom was born on March 3, 1943 in Bristol, Virginia, son of the late Curtis and Nan Byrd Wilson. He was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Air Force. He had a distinguished career as an accountant retiring from Z.V. Pate, Inc., after many years of dedicated service.

He was a longtime faithful member of Saint Luke United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and managed the sound system.

Tom enjoyed reading, working puzzles and being a “tech buff.” His favorite times were those spent with his wife, daughter and grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Hattie Bob Wilson of their home in Laurinburg, his daughter Dawn Smith of Clayton, and grandchildren Grayson Smith and Sawyer Smith.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Saint Luke United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Billy Olsen. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. A private interment will be held at a later date.
