Arrest

LAURINBURG — Quinton McRimmon, 33, of 701 Nichols St., was arrested Monday and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and served with outstanding warrants of assault by pointing a gun, simple assault and communicating threats, according to police. He was placed in the Scotland County jail under a $2,000 bond.

Assistant Police Chief Cliff Sessoms said patrol officers stopped McRimmon on Ann Street to serve the warrants and, when searching him, found a handgun concealed in his waistband.

Shot fired

LAURINBURG — Someone fired a shot at an unoccupied Laurinburg police car on Friday while it was parked at Tara Village, according to police. The shot went through the vehicle’s right front quarter panel and destroyed a tire, police said. Damage was estimated at $700.

Break-ins

LAURINBURG — A resident of Madeira Avenue reported Tuesday that someone took a handgun from his 2013 Avenger while it was parked at Scotland Manor apartments, according to police. The handgun was valued at $300.

LAURINBURG — Pleasant’s Auto Sales, on McColl Road, reported Monday that someone broke into five vehicles, causing damage to windows and stero equipment, according to police. Damage was estimated at $650.

LAURINBURG — A resident of the 1200 block of Main Street reported Sunday that someone took a rifle, a television and cash from his home. The items were valued at $2,400.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Burgaw reported that someone took a guitar from his Cadillac CTS while it was parked at 400 Plaza Road, according to police. The guitar was valued at $2,000.

Theft

LAURINBURG — A resident of the 300 block of Wilson Street reported Tuesday that someone took a window air-conditioning unit from his home, according to police. The unit was valued at $600.
