Husband charged after body found in Lumber River

WAGRAM — Authorities have charged the husband of the woman whose body was found early Monday in the Lumber River.

Maxwell Revels, 46, has been charged with first-degree murder after turning himself in to the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, several media outlets are reporting. Sheriff’s officials could not be reached for comment for this article.

The body of 42-year-old Tammy Phillips, was found in a reservoir off Riverton Road in Wagram, according to reports. Phillips’ car was also found in the water.

The cause of death has not been released.

Revels is being held without bond.
