LAURINBURG — The St. Andrews University Community Music School held a Christmas recital on Sunday in the Hagan Choral Room of Vardell Hall.

The students of Alice Wilkins and Marjorie Hinson performed selections on violin, guitar, and piano, including some vocals.

Makenzie Chavis, Vy Pham, Shanijah McQueen, Jermarah Hale, Gavin Blue, Ana Huesa, Cutter Eaves, Destiny Nealy and Brianna Myers performed on piano.

Guitar performances were given by Jack Herr, Alex Garrigus, Kyle McCoy and Christian Molina. Selections included a Christmas favorite, “Away in a Manger.”

Students sharing their violin talents were Melody Blue performing “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas,” Ayla Schillig, Faith Chavis, Christian Molina, Daniel Caudill, and Rebecca Simmons.

The recital ended with “Taladh Chriosta (Christ Child Lullaby)” a Gaelic Carol, performed by student guitarists Christian Molina and Kyle McCoy accompanied by the St. Andrews Community Music School “Garage Band” including John Beranek, Gene Dunn, and Long Pham also on guitars.
