LAURINBURG — A woman went to the hospital after she was assaulted by two men.

The woman was walking near the post office on Fairly and Gill streets around 11 p.m. Sunday when she was approached by two men, according to a police report. Police said the men appeared to be in their early 20-years-old — one had long dreads and the other had a short box cut.

The men approached the woman and told her to give them her property, according to police. During the exchange,the woman was cut with the knife on her upper left arm. Police say the woman fell and scraped her knees during the incident.

The men did not take her money or items and they left on foot heading west on Fairly Street, according to a police report.

Police said the woman was treated at the hospital for the knife wound and knee abrasions.
