LAURINBURG — Authorities continue to search for two Robeson County residents accused of cashing fake payroll checks at a Scotland County convenience store.

Authorities are looking for James Carvie Hunt and Angela Spaulding, according to Capt. Mitch Johnson of the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office. Hunt and Spaulding are wanted on felony warrants.

Johnson did not have a date for the alleged incident, but his office was alerted by officials with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Department on Oct. 1.

“We have been looking for them since them,” Johnson said.

Johnson would not name the store where investigators say the fabricated checks were cashed or how much the checks were for.

Photos of Hunt and Spaulding have been posted on the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

“With your help, these two suspects were able to be positively identified and will be brought to justice,” said the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Anyone with information on the incident are asked to call the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-276-3385.
