Shooting

LAURINBURG — Police are seeking those responsible for a Monday shooting of two cars parked at a convenience store at 407 E. Vance St. According to Laurinburg Assistant Police Chief Cliff Sessoms, six shots were fired just after 10 p.m., some which struck a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina, causing $500 damage, and a 1999 Suzuki, causing $100 damage. Sessoms said police believe a group of people were shooting at another group and struck the cars inadvertently. Witnesses said they saw a dark colored SUV or van leaving the scene.

Arrests

LAURINBURG — Crystal Star Robles, 29, of 208 Washington St. was arrested on Thursday under a warrant for Moore County charges, according to a sheriff’s report. Robles was placed under a $6,000 secured bond.

WAGRAM — Gregory McRae, Jr., 27, of 24920 Gorham Circle was arrested on Friday under an order for arrest for one count of communicating threats, one count of simple assault, and one count of injury to personal property, according to a sheriff’s report. McRae was placed under a $4,000 secured bond.

Vehicle theft

LAURINBURG — A resident of the 800 block of Covenant Way reported Tuesday that someone took her 2011 Toyota Corolla, according to police. The gray four-door car is valued at $12,000.

LAURINBURG — A 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle was reported stolen from the Big Lots parking lot on Sunday, according to police. The motorcycle was valued at $3,500.

Break-ins

LAURINBURG — A resident of the 400 block of Maple Street reported Tuesday that someone broke into his car while it was parked on the 1400 block of Hickory Street, according to police. A tablet valued at $300 was reported stolen.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Graham Road reported Monday that someone took a bolt action rifle with scope from their car while it was parked on the 500 block of Everette Street, according to police. The rifle was valued at about $700.

LAURINBURG — A resident of the 700 block of Raleigh Street reported Monday that someone broke into his truck and took a radio valued at $600, according to police.

LAUREL HILL — A resident of Fork Street reported on Saturday that someone broke into his home through a window and stole various collectible coins valued at $1,000, according to a sheriff’s report.

LAUREL HILL — A resident of Bunch Road reported on Saturday that someone broke into her home and stole a PlayStation 4, game controller, and game valued at a total of $670, according to a sheriff’s report.

Vandalism

LAURINBURG — About $5,000 damage was reportedly caused to an air-conditioning unit on Monday on the 200 block of Speller Street, according to police. Someone reportedly took copper pipe from the unit, causing the damage in the process.
