Break in

LAURINBURG – A customer at Walmart on US 401 reported to police on Wednesday that someone broke into her car while she was in the store and stole her purse and cash for a total value of $170.

LAURINBURG – St. David’s Episcopal Church on Azure Court reported to police on Wednesday that someone broke into the church. Nothing is reported stolen at this time.

Fraud

LAURINBURG – A resident of Woodlawn Drive reported to police on Wednesday that someone used her identity to take out student loans. The fraud was discovered when she received a notice in the mail.

Arrests

LAURINBURG – Shaquana Bethea, 31, of West Bizzell Street, was arrested on charges of larceny. During the arrest, she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bethea was given a written promise to appear on both charges.

LAURINBURG – Derrick Campbell, 26, of Laurinburg, was arrested on charges of trespassing and larceny. Campbell was given a written promise to appear, according to police.

LAURINBURG – Brandon Kawain Crosland, 28, of Jefferson Street, was arrested on a warrant for misdemeanor failure to pay child support out of Rowan County. Crosland was given a $1,500 secured bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
