GIBSON — Amanda Joy Taylor and Bobby Joe Parker are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Kim Crumpler of Raeford and the late John Benjamin Taylor, Jr. and stepdaughter of Kel Crumpler. She is the granddaughter of Ervin and Frances Taylor of Laurinburg.

The groom is the son of Donna Kay Swain of Louisiana and Donny Parker of Gibson and stepson of Ernest Swain. He is the grandson of Gracie and the late Bobby Milligan of Laurel Hill.

The bride is a graduate of Hoke County High School and the groom is a Scotland High School graduate.

A wedding is planned for 3 p.m. on May 14, 2016 at the Highlands in Laurinburg with the Rev. Richard Tyson officiating. A reception will follow at the Highlands.

The bride will be given in marriage by her brother John Benjamin Taylor, III. The wedding gown will be of Italian ivory satin with a sleveless corset top and three-foot train, adorned with an ivory single comb veil.

Sisters of the bride Meredith Taylor of Raeford and Julia Sweatmon of Orangeburg, South Carolina will be the maid of honor and bridesmaid. The bride’s cousin Brooke Hill of Laurinbugr and sister-in-law Brandi Parker of Laurel Hill will also be bridesmaids.

Joseph Parker of Laurel Hill, the groom’s brother, will be best man. Nephew of the bride Clayton Quick will serve as ringbearer.

The couple will honeymoon at Like Tillery and will live in Gibson after their marriage.
