Judith “Judy” Turner Smith, age 63 of Laurinburg passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Kenneth Blease. Burial will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.

Judy was born Nov. 1, 1946 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Leroy Turner and Elsie Stone Turner. She was a precious and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and devoted her life to caring for handicapped children. Judy served the Lord and faithfully attended Northview Harvest Ministries. She also loved playing the game of Bingo and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, son Kenneth Lane Smith of Opelika, Ala.; her daughter, Shelia Jeffords and her husband Mark of Hartsville, S.C.; a brother, Harold Turner and wife Barbara Jean of Laurinburg; her sister, Linda Sessoms and husband Craymond of Laurinburg; her grandchildren, Shayla Jeffords and Cierra Jeffords; a nephew, David Turner and wife Randy; and special friends James and Linda Smith, Ronnie and Lori Hudson, Michael and Suzanne Ellis, Kathy Simmons, Barbara Ivey and Jean Callahan.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
