A Scotland County native was honored recently by the company that she works for with a Black History Month Award.
Tamala Bullard was recognized as one of the first recipients of the BEACON Lighthouse award. The award was presented for the first time during a recent Newell Rubbermaid Black History program.
Company officials said that the program and the award celebrate inclusion and diversity and serve as a “time to honor those who represent values that align with …Newell Rubbermaid values: passion, entrepreneurial spirit, interdependence and innovation.”
Bullard serves as senior human resources manager for Newell Rubbermaid in Huntersville.
She is the daughter of William and Flora Bullard of Laurinburg. A 1988 graduate of Scotland High School, she is a 1992 Winston Salem State graduate and a 2003 MBA graduate of Gardner Webb University.
