Noon Lenten services

First United Methodist Church in Laurinburg will be having Noon Lenten services each Wednesday in the Nettie Hammond Building.

There will be a short devotion with hymns and prayers followed by a light lunch (if wanted) for a charge of $5. Lunch may inlcude soup and sandwich, salad or baked potato.

There is a “different” speaker each week from various local churches. The inital speakers were Rev. Elizabeth Forester - Associate with Laurinburg Prebyterian Church and the Rev. Linda Nelson of Lutheran Church of the Living Word.

— Feb. 27 - Rev. Jesse Brunson - Galilee United Methodist Church

— Mar. 6 - Rev. David Blackman - St. Luke United Methodist Church

— Mar. 13 - Rev. Valerie Tyson - St. Paul’s United Methodist Church

— Mar. 20 - Rev. Robert “Bobby” Dean - Central United Methodist Church
