Scotland County Partnership for Children and Families is reviving its Most Charming Child Contest.

Beginning this week, the Partnership will accept registration forms from parents who wish to have their child(ren) participate in the contest to discover Scotland County’s Most Charming Child. Submissions will be taken until Oct. 24. This is the third year for the contest.

To be eligible, children can not be older than 5 years old at the conclusion of the contest on Nov. 16 2012, and must be a resident of Scotland County.

There is a $15 registration fee for each photo submitted.

Only one child should be featured in each photograph. Ultra sound photographs will not be accepted. If the photo submitted was taken by a professional photographer, a release form must be provided by the photographer giving authorization to reprint the photo.

Registration forms will not be accepted if post marked later than Oct. 24. Votes will be accepted beginning Oct. 25 after all registration forms have been received. Voting will end on Nov. 16.

Contest entrants will have their picture printed in The Laurinburg Exchange after all entry forms have been received, so the community can see the children they are voting for. Voters may submit an unlimited number of votes for their favorite child at a cost of .50 cents per vote.

Registration forms can be picked up from the Scotland County Partnership for Children and Families office. The Partnership will set up voting booths at various community business locations during the voting period to accept votes from the community.

The top 12 children who receive the most votes will be displayed in a full color 2013 calendar. The entrant who receives the most votes will be featured on the cover of the calendar.

First place will receive a savings bond valued at $200 and developmentally appropriate gift, second place will receive a $75 savings bond, and third place receives a $50 savings bond. All twelve finalists will receive a trophy, invited to ride on the Partnership float during the Christmas parade, and receive two free calendars.

Scotland County Partnership for Children and Families is a nonprofit agency that prepares children for success by providing resources to families and the community.
