Pilot Club members lauded at convention

LAURINBURG — The 2014 Pilot International Annual Convention and Leadership Conference was held in Chicago on July 2 through July 6. The theme for the convention was “Celebrating the Gift of Pilot.”

Scottish Pilot Club President Joyce Jewell, Past President Ida McGill, Vice President Barbara Mack and Project’s Chairperson Terry Gallman received updates from Pilot International as well as new initiatives that the organization is pursuing. The Scottish Pilot Club members attended workshops on leadership, membership, projects, and grant applications. The “Celebrating You” luncheon speaker was Jacqueline Cornaby, who encouraged Pilots to “Be More.”

The Scottish Pilot Club of Laurinburg received 2013-2014 Pilot International Awards for Outstanding Club Visibility and Outstanding Community Service. The club was admitted to the Honor Wall for their financial support to Pilot International.

Pilot International, Inc. is a charitable and educational organization whose purpose is to promote programs and activities that support brain-related disorders and disabilities through education, volunteerism, financial support and research.
