LAURINBURG — Colen Jones, 29, of Isabella Street, reported from Scotland Memorial Hospital on Thursday that two men had beaten and robbed him in the vicinity of Alpha and Beta streets, according to a police report.
Jones was being treated for a puncture wound and swelling on the left side of his face at the time he made the report, but hospital staff told police that Jones may have suffered a broken jaw. Jones reported that $50 had been taken.
LAURINBURG — Jessica Montgomery, 18, of Kneely Street, reported Saturday that she was walking home at about 8 p.m. when two me, one of whom was wearing a ski mask, hit her on the back and demanded she give them her money, according to a police report.
Montgomery said she opened her purse and threw her money on the ground, and the two men fled. She called 911 after arriving home.
LAURINBURG — A pregnant Laurinburg women reported Saturday that she visited a home on R. Graham Street to pick up a relative who was being assaulted when a man came out of the home and hit her across the back with a baseball bat, according to a police report.
LAUREL HILL — Mary Desmond, of Old Wire Road, reported that someone broke into her home, causing $75 damage to a door, and took a television valued at $600, according to a sheriff’s report.
LAUREL HILL — David Smith, of Old Wire Road, reported that someone broke into his home and took two televisions valued at a combined $2,500, a laptop valued at $500 and an iPad valued at $600, according to a sheriff’s report. Damage to a door frame was reported at $75.
LAURINBURG — Robert Taylor, of Old Johns Road, reported that someone broke into his home and took a television valued at $1,100 and a $1,500 laptop, according to a sheriff’s report.
LAURINBURG — Bobby Sweet, of Affordable Buildings and Carports, reported that someone broke into the business’ office, causing $25 damage, according to a police report.
LAURINBURG — Antonio Bogus, of Montclair Drive, reported Thursday that someone took a moped from the backyard of his home, according to a police report.
LAURINBURG — Tyesha Washington, of Elliot Drive, reported that someone used her debit card without her permission while she was in jail from June 28-June 30, according to a police report.
