LAURINBURG — A gun and about 26.2 grams of both crack and powder cocaine was found in the home of a couple that was arrested Friday morning for illegal drug activity, according to the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office.
Vincent White, 35, and his girlfriend, Miranda Gibson, 37, of 10321 Sierra Circle, have been charged with felonious possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, conspiracy to sell and deliver crack cocaine, maintaining a dwelling with the purpose of selling and delivering a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
They are being held in the Scotland County jail, each under a $100,000 secured bond.
Sheriff’s Lt. Earl Haywood, narcotics investigator, said that White will also face charges of possession of firearm by a felon. Authorities found a loaded Glock .40 caliber on a bed in White and Gibson’s home, Haywood said.
“We received numerous calls about both for the past several months,” Haywood said. “We had been receiving a lot of complaints about a lot of traffic going in and out of (White’s) property.
Haywood said the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office with the arrests and added that White was on probation prior to his arrest Friday. He’s done time behind bars for “several drug charges” before, Haywood said.
Investigators also found a “substantial amount” of cash inside White and Gibson’s home, as well as a high-tech surveillance system.
“That way he knows who’s coming onto his property,” Haywood said. “He established somewhat of a business out there.”
