LAURINBURG — Malika Sexton, 18, was arrested for simple assault on Thursday, according to a police report. Sexton was served with a warrant and given a $200 unsecured bond.
LAURINBURG — Brandie Roberts, 23, of Rockingham was arrested at Walmart on Thursday for larceny and trespassing, according to a police report. Officers also found drugs on her and she was charged with drug violations. Roberts was held under a $3,000 secured bond.
LAURINBURG — Casey Reeves, 33, of 14642 Hargrave Street in Laurel Hill received a criminal summons to court on Thursday and charged with harassing phone calls, according to a sheriff’s report.
LAURINBURG — Anthony Hunt, 31, of 10440 Parliment Avenue received a criminal summons to court on Wednesday and charged with failure to return rented property, according to a sheriff’s report.
LAURINBURG — Frances Watts of Lees Mill Road reported on Thursday that she left her house around 10 a.m. and returned at 4 p.m. to find a broken window in her son’s room, according to a police report. Someone had taken a Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, a video game and a drop chord that’s worth about $400. The estimated damage done to the window is $100.
LAURINBURG — Alicia Hunt of Sanders Road reported on Friday that someone broke into her residence and took about $1,135 worth of jewelry, a cell phone and shoes, according to a sheriff’s report.
LAURINBURG — Alejandro Castrejon of Andrews Drive reported on Thursday that eight landscaping lights in the front yard of his residence were damaged, according to a police report. The estimated cost of damages done to the lights is $800.
LAURINBURG — Carmon Jones of Phritz Street reported an armed robbery on Thursday, according to a police report. Around 5 p.m. two suspects held Jones at gunpoint and took money from her home. Officers are still investigating the incident.
LAURINBURG — Gene McQueen of North Pine Street reported on Thursday that someone took a scooter valued at $2,000, according to a police report
LAURINBURG — Annie McIntyre of Plaza Road reported Thursday that she received a counterfeit $5 bill earlier that day, according to a police report. McIntyre unknowingly used the money at Dollar General of 1513 Atkinson Street to discover at the store that the $5 was a counterfeit.
LAURINBURG — Hemantkumar Patel of Terrace Circle reported an attempted fraud on Thursday at his business, Community Mart, when he received a fraudulent check for $334.87, according to a sheriff’s report.
