Laurinburg resident to hold book-signing

LAURINBURG — A Laurinburg resident has released her third book, available in paperback and electronic forms at

Sharon Rice Maag’s “My Stories — A Very Personal Case for Jesus Christ” is a 15 chapter book of short stories and memories which include family, former students, co-workers and church members.

Maag won her first writing contest while in third grade at Covington Street Elementary School and has been writing ever since. Later this month, she will be reading that story to her grandson Conner’s third-grade class at that same school. On Saturday, she will host a book signing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Treasure Hunters of the Carolinas at 11411 McColl Road. Book price is $5 at signing.

Maag has been published in “Carolina Country” and “Chicken Soup — What I Learned From the Dog.” Her two other books, “15 Fun and Colorful Spelling Activities for Kids” and “Math Camp — Fraction Basics” are also available at
