Deadline for poetry submissions extended

LAURINBURG — The deadline to submit materials to be a part of the Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poets Series for the central region has been extended until Nov. 1.

Middle school, high school, college and adult poets in the 32-country region, including Richmond, Robeson and Scotland Counties, are invited to submit the application and material for the opportunity to work with the Distinguished Poet Lynn Veach Sadler.

Students will send their poetry to her for comments and suggestions, will meet with her to discuss the work, and will then read selected poems at one local venue and also at the Central Regional Reading, hosted by St. Andrews University in Laurinburg.
