Police say at least two of three separate shootings on Laurinburg on Monday may be related.
The shootings each occurred at around 4:30 a.m. Monday —one on Produce Market Road and another shooting Hall Street.
The incident left one man injured and another home shot into, according to Assistant Chief Cliff Sessoms of the Laurinburg Police Department.
Cedric Gibson, 32, of Laurinburg told authorities that he was walking on Produce Market Road when a green Honda drove by him. A passenger in the vehicle shot at Gibson, striking him in the leg, according to police. Gibson was unable to describe the shooter to authorities.
At the same time, a second shooting occurred at 744 Hall Street, when someone shot into the residence. Sessoms said that none of the three people in the home at the time was injured.
Gibson was treated and released from Scotland Memorial Hospital.
“These incidents are under investigation at this time,” said Sessoms. “We are checking into some information - the Produce Market Road and Hall Street incidents may be related.”
Police are also investigation the shooting of pedestrian at around 10:20 p.m. on Monday. The victim, 20-year-old Miguel Deberry of Kinlaw Street was hit in the foot while walking on Port Street, police said.
Deberry reported that the shooter was in a black Dodge Stratus with chrome rims. There is no description of the shooter.
Deberry was transported to a hospital, and his injuries are not life-threatening, Sessoms said.
