LAURINBURG — Hotdogs, notebooks and haircuts will be up for grabs at a community back-to-school event set for next weekend.
Evergreen Behavioral Management’s first Back to School Community Kick-Off is scheduled for Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the James L. Morgan Recreation Complex.
Cook-out style meals will be served to all in attendance and a local deejay will provide entertainment throughout the day. School supplies that have been collected throughout July and August will be distributed.
Barbers and hair stylists will also be providing free hair cuts to children and their families. Pre-screening and assessments for behavioral health services will also be available to interested attendees.
Evergreen Behavioral Management is a comprehensive mental health care system with offices located throughout southeastern North Carolina. Since 1997, the agency has provided mental health services to clients, and it has served Laurinburg since 2009. Evergreen serves individuals and families affected by mental illness, physical illness, developmental disability, and substance abuse.
